WIN Communication Network Goes Green

As the Planet faces a dire environmental crisis, the World Indian Network Communications, WIN TV and WIN Radio 101.1 FM is about to launch a new initiative to help save out country!

The WIN Communications Network is getting about to GO GREEN!!!!  WIN TV and WIN Radio are about to launch our new “green’ logo, and embark on a series of activities geared at changing people’s approach to their environment, raising awareness of environmental issues, addressing urgent environmental issues and cleaning up our country.

The plan includes:

• A ‘Go Green and WIN’ Committee, headed by nature lover, adventurer and environmentalist Courtenay Rooks, WIN TV’s Sunil Ramdeen and three other specially invited members.

• We will launch our campaign at the end of June from La Vega in Gran Couva, which will be carried live on TV and Radio.

• We will embark on a series of one and three minute features that will get constant rotation daily on WIN TV and WIN Radio on ways each member of the public can contribute to Environmental protection. e.g. turning off the lights.

• We will highlight these issues on our weekly half-hour programme “Earth Alert”

• We will produce a high quality, investigative two-hour special on the environment in Trinidad and Tobago, which we will launch on our network, as well as the world-wide web.

• We will establish a ‘go green and WIN’ network on www.wintvworld.com, Facebook, maracasnyc.com and other internet sites.

• We will embark on a ‘go green and WIN’ tour throughout Trinidad and Tobago, where we:
   

  • will visit places with environmental issues (erosion, pollution etc) and hold community meetings that we will highlight on the WIN Communications Network.

  • will visit and partner with schools throughout the country, making the students part of the ‘go green and WIN’ initiative, and highlighting their projects on air. We will also set up banners in all these schools promoting environmental protection.
     

• We will establish a weekly and/or monthly competition for schools and communities that best clean up their immediate environments, and introduce a best essay on “Saving the Environment in Trinidad and Tobago” competition open to various age groups, including adults and children. The winner will get relevant prizes.

• We have recruited several young, dynamic artistes to be Environmental Ambassadors for this project, who will also visit the schools.

Additionally top performers JMC 3Veni and Andy Singh will join to produce a theme song and video on the environment and the initiative.

We will Go Green and Win, and do our part to help save the Environment in our beloved country.
