WIN Communication Network presents Medical Matters with Sheldon
Yearwood

Your window to optimum health…
‘Take care of your body with steadfast fidelity. The soul must see
through these eyes alone, and if they are dim, the whole world is
clouded…’ It’s time to remove the clouds of ill health that have
kept you in bondage and embrace a healthy lifestyle. Medical Matters
is an award-winning program that has been on the air for just over
two years and in that short time, has amassed a worldwide audience
giving an insight into optimum health.
The producer and host Sheldon Yearwood took what was just an idea
and developed it into the only show of its kind in the region that
takes an in depth look into health related issues. Since its
inception Yearwood has created history winning nine awards; six from
the Pan American Health Organization, one of which he was recognized
for Best Health Promotion in the Caribbean. This award afforded him
the opportunity of a trip to Washington DC to take part in a health
fellowship with the Kaiser Family Foundation where he interacted
with several key players in journalism including former managing
editor of BET Greg Chance, senior journalists of the Washington Post
and executives from ABC...all of whom were impressed with his work
and who he will be collaborating with on future projects.
Recently, he also represented the Caribbean at a media conference in
Mexico on the effects of Climate Change. This was sponsored by the
UNFPA. Medical Matters has also been a platform for helping to raise
funds for children who are in dire need of surgery abroad, which has
proven to be very successful. The Women’s Wednesday Special, which
was initially scheduled to be one program turned out to be a
phenomenal hit and today, this one-hour production has a large
viewing audience. To this end we thank special regular guest and
gynaecologist Dr. Sherene Kalloo for her continued support and
expertise as many women have benefitted from her advice.
Other medical professionals have also endorsed this show including
renowned psychiatrist and head of the Psychiatry Unit at the
University of the West Indies Dr. Gerard Hutchinson, and renowned
Urologist
Dr. Lester Goetz. Minister of Social Development the Honourable Dr.
Amery Browne has also gone on record endorsing this show stating
that it has been a blessing to the people of Trinidad and Tobago in
addressing the issues surrounding health and social issues. Every
human being is the author of his own health or disease…so let’s take
that first step to rewriting our lives…
This is Medical Matters…
