WICB DECISION UPHELD BY COURT
Justice Vasheist Kokaram sitting in the Port of Spain High Court took only an hour and a half to deliver a verdict in the matter of the TTCB versus the WICB.
Justice Kokaram heard arguments from SC Avory Sinanan for the TTCB and Attorney Jonathan Walker for the WICB.
At the end of submissions by both sides Justice Kokaram ruled in favour of the West Indies Cricket Board, giving them the green light to host the finals between Jamaica and the CCC today.
In handing down his decision Justice Kokaram pointed out that many third party interests would be trampled on if the injunction were to be granted.
Justice Kokaram also went on to say that a body should be set up within the WICB as an alternative dispute resolution authority to the court system.
However, an application for judicial review over the WICB’s decision is expected to be argued on monday in the same court.
