Opening Of The San Fernando Independence Cultural Village

Independence Cultural Village will open in San Fernando.

On Friday 24th of August 2012, the NAPA South Campus car park will come alive when the San Fernando City Corporation opens the Independence Cultural Village at 7pm.

The village will open daily from 4pm-7pm and continue until Sunday 26th August 2012.

The Mayor of San Fernando, Dr. Navi Muradali, will deliver opening remarks, followed by guests that include the Member of Parliament for San Fernando West the Honorable Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan and Minister of Arts and Multi-Culturalism Dr. Lincoln Douglas.

The city will present fifty special Independence awards to distinguished San Fernando residents over the 3-day village including the past mayors of the city of San Fernando.

In addition to nightly live entertainment, booths will display historical and cultural achievements of San Fernando and Trinidad and Tobago.

Showcasing as well, many local food and dishes.

Admission is free to the public.
