Police Association “Mum” On Killings

Both president of the Police Service Association Sgt Anand Ramesar and PSA Secretary Sgt Michael Seales remain tightlipped on the circumstances surrounding last night’s killing of 23 year old Nigel Ceasar of John John Laventille.

While speaking to 7Eyewitness News the officers maintained that they are unable to comment on the issue given the lack of information at present.

Last night saw fire and chaos at John John Laventille after police shot and killed ceasar a well known gunman in the area allegedly in self defense.

The officers claim they were patrolling the area when shots were fired at them.

According to the police they returned fire during which Caesar was shot.

However residents in the area say this is not true.

They are calling the actions of the police murder and have accused the police of using excessive force and killing an unarmed man.

The residents bombarded the streets with old appliances, pieces of debris and anything they could find to block the Eastern Main Road and obstruct traffic as they staged a fiery protest.

There was a strong police presence in the area from last night up until this morning as officers attempted to regain peace.

Investigations into the matter are continuing.
