Sabga Says Public Holiday Was Disruptive
Group Chairman of Ansa McAl A. Norman Sabga says the spur of the moment public holiday yesterday was very disruptive for businesses.
It was minutes before 8pm on Sunday evening that Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar declared Monday a public holiday.
This was done in recognition of Keshorn Walcott winning the gold medal at the olympics.
Speaking at Ansa McAl’s head office today, Sabga says it was a very costly exercise as businesses had to pay overtime
However, the Ansa McAl Group Chairman said on the bright side, it was nice to see the support Walcott got yesterday when he arrived at the airport.
The Ansa McAl’s Insurance Company, Tatil, is expecting significant flood claims from those who were affected by the flood over the weekend in West Trinidad.
