Drugs Found Near Piarco

Two hundred and fifty three grams of cocaine and 11.25 kilograms of compressed Jamaican high grade marijuana were found around midday yesterday.
The drugs were said to have an estimated street value of $15,000 and $170, 000.
According to reports, the discovery was made by officers from the North Eastern Division Task Force including Sgt Roger Alexander, Cpl. Sunil Bharath, PC’s Dass, Mahabir and Furlong under the supervision of Supt John Daniel, while conducting a surveillance exercise within the Piarco area.
The officers stumbled upon a suitcase containing the drugs while searching an apartment at Vantage Avenue, Piarco.
No one was in the apartment at the time of the discovery.
Investigations are continuing to ascertain the ownership of the drugs.
