NICHOLAS MAKES IT CLEAR HE WILL NOT STEP DOWN

And in response to the comments made by the works minister.

The Chairman of Caribbean Airlines George Nicholas has confirmed that there are issues at the board level but he says he will not step down.

Mr. Nicholas told WIN News that there is a difference of culture, modernism, education and experience among the board members.

The other board members include Vice Chairman Mohan Jaikaran, Allan Clovis, Gizelle Russell, Susan Smith, Avedanand Persad and Venosh Sagewan-Maraj.

Mr. Nicholas says the airline is only weeks away from appointing a new CEO.

Its Acting CEO is Robert Corbie.

He says the rest of the board might view the appointment of a new CEO as a threat on how they run the airline.

And despite reports that board members are unhappy with how Nicholas is running the airline, the CAL Chairman is making it categorically clear that he will not step down.

Nicholas says he has the government performance manual on what a Chairman can and cannot do.
