PM Responsible For Actions Of Gov’t

The Prime Minister is responsible for all members of the cabinet in Trinidad and Tobago.

This from Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley as he lashed out against the demolition of the Re route Movement’s Camp site by National Security Minister Jack Warner last Wednesday.

Dr. Rowley says that Warner’s actions are not surprising.

He says that Warner has only taken up the post as Minister of National Security within a few days and he has already begun creating problems.

According to Rowley, Warner’s claim that he went to oversee the actions of the police and defense force are incredulous and unbelievable.

He further stated that the PM must be held responsible for Warner’s actions since she was the one who appointed him as minister.. .and her silence in the matter is proof of her condonance of his actions.

Rowley further questioned the suitability of the prime minister to run the country if a minister can act without her knowledge or consent.

He went on to state that the PNM has worked too hard to let the People’s Partnership government destroy what they have built.
