Elderly Man Beaten To Death

The murder told was pushed to 201 with the latest murder being that of an elderly man from Gasparillo.
The man has been identified at 69 year old Andre Joachim.
Reports indicate that at around 1:30 am this morning officers from the Gasparillo police received a call that intruders were beating a man at his 5th Street, Spring Lands, Gasparillo home.
On arrival they met a woman by the name of Melissa Austin who reported that she was in the company of Joachim when around 1am three men broke into the house and began beating him.
She says they were repeatedly asking for his gun.
Ms Austin reportedly managed to escape and also contacted the police.
On entering the house the officers found Joachim tied-up and gagged and lifeless, his body bearing signs of violence.
Investigations revealed that he was not the holder of a firearm user’s licence.
Southern homicide officers are investigating.
