PM Acknowledges Challenges In Labour Movement

In her Labour Day message, Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar is acknowledging the challenging time between labour and the government.
In a statement Prime Minister Persad Bissessar says labour is and will always be a partner to her government despite the challenges.
And she insists that her government’s commitment to respect and honour the participation of the labour movement in the governance process remains the same.
She is calling on the Trade Union Movement to work with her government to build a strong new relationship and find amicable ways to express concerns and resolve issues.
The prime minister says the labour day celebrations are being held at a time when there is much interest in the relationship with pro-labour government…..
She says her government cantake credit to the settlement of 36 labour negotiations which have been oustanding for years.
