Soca Star Machel Montano is expected to receive sentencing shortly after midday today. This after Montano was found guilty of five criminal offences in December 2012 following a fracas outside the Zen Night Club in 2007. Sentencing was said to have been postponed from its original time at 9am this morning after the magistrate arrived late at the hearing following the protests along the Beetham Highway.

Children of all ages came out in their numbers to participate in the San Fernando Kiddies Carnival yesterday. The children, took the streets by storm as they paraded in colourful costumes along Cipero Street and Skinner Park, which was the main judging point. Over 20 children’s bands participated in the parade, separated into two categories—school and non-school from areas as far as Siparia and Claxton Bay.
