NIB Workers Protest In South
NIB workers continued with protest action today. This time they took their struggle to their San Fernando office The protests are over protracted wage negotiations. Workers are frustrated with the salary gap between the NIB executives and employees. According to PSA section committee member Terrence Regis, workers are worth much more than the 5 percent, being offered to them.

Many Communities Without Lights And Water
Member of Parliament for Oropuche East Dr. Roodal Moonilal has lamented that there are many communities across the country without electricity and a proper water supply. Speaking in Parliament yesterday, the Oropuche East MP named a number of communities within his own constituencies, which are still without these basic necessities. Dr. Moonilal however assured that government is working to have this problem resolved.

24 HOUR HEALTH CARE FOR CEDROS
Residents of Cedros and environs will soon have access to 24-hour health care. This, as the South West Regional Health Authority has put arrangements in place for residents to access emergency services after hours at the Cedros health centre. HOUSING MINISTER WANTS A CRIME-FREE HDC
Housing Minister Roodal Moonilal said that the Housing Development Corporation wants a clean record. Speaking at one of the larger Key-Distribution Ceremony by HDC at South NAPA earlier today, the minister said that he hopes HDC communities will be crime-free. In order to ensure that HDC units are not a haven for the criminal elements, Moonilal intends to set up communities centres that will offer educational and character-buidling workshops.
