Corporate Information
I’d like to tell you about some of the hard work we’ve been doing
here at World Indian Network Communications, which I believe can allow us to work
together. World Indian Network Communications TV is a National Television Station broadcasting on
Channels 37, 39 and soon VHF Channel 7. We are also seen
on Cable Channel 12 and on
www.wintvworld.com.
WIN Radio 101.1FM is a National Radio station that has been in
existing for close to 12 years, it is a brand that is still very
vibrant and alive, and since I resumed control on the frequency in
early 2009, I have not only re-introduced the youthful format, but
spiced it up with several big names such as Rikki Jai, Big Rich, DJ
Sean, Tynnille Kissoon, Adesh Samaroo etc. As a result,
WIN Radio has made tremendous strides since May 2009, and is already
a key player in the market. With respect to WIN TV, we started
broadcasting in May 2007, and tried to compete directly with the
other National Stations with respect to our programming.
We found that to be a mistake, since CCN TV6, CNMG and CNC 3 all
have the same type of programming, bought out of Hollywood.
We therefore returned to our original idea for the station, and
niched it to the East Indian market. The result has been
overwhelming! While there are several radio stations catering to
this target market with tremendous spending power, we became the
ONLY National TV station to do so. Over the past year we have seen a
leap in our audience and our revenue. Targeting a market which
comprises close to half the population, we soon found that we were
able to fill a yearning need in the industry. Our exciting blend of
original Indian Programmes coupled with the eternal pull of our
Bollywood movies has resulted in a committed market, which continues
to grow daily!
We have also invested in several community based events which has
allowed our Network to have a tangible presence in several towns and
villages throughout Trinidad and Tobago, forging relationships, and
further building our base. This initiative is
strengthened by the support we receive from the local
Chutney/Crossover industry ...artistes like Rikki Jai, Karma,
Dil-E-Nadan, Hunter, Hitman, Kenneth Salick are all produced by Big
Rich, who works with us in 101. We have been able to successfully
get these artistes to publicly and consistently endorse
WIN Communications, and with the huge popularity of
Chutney/Crossover music now, this has allowed us to make even bigger
strides in locking down market share. We have also been
able to gauge our reach by our text responses, which average 400 to
500 during the Crime Watch programme alone, as well as hundreds of ‘shoutouts’
per day from both within and outside Trinidad and Tobago to 101.1FM.
We also enjoy over 6,000,000 hits per month on our websites
worldwide. We are in discussions with Brilliant Solutions to stream
our content, which unlike many other stations is almost 75% original
content, to the UK market.
While we are thrilled with the response to our Indian-niched
programming we have not neglected out Current Affairs either, which
appeals to the entire population. The quality of our programmes can
be judged by their successes. In the two years WIN TV has been
in existence, our News and Current Affairs Department has copped 12
awards!! Our Medical Matters programme with host Sheldon
Yearwood has won seven (7) PAHO (Pan-American Health Organisation)
awards, and was voted the best Medical show in the Caribbean by PAHO
in 2009. The show has also won two (2) MATT/Lumen National
Media awards. Our Earth Alert environmental show with Courtenay
Rooks won the Media Photographers Association award for best
video/story in 2009. Our Community News, the only full newscast that
focuses exclusively on community-oriented stories in December 2009
won two Hilton Trinidad Media awards. Market to Market with Judy Kanhai remains the only TV business programme
which has garnered a huge audience among many of the countries
stakeholders in the economy, from private to public sector!
As our Network grows in popularity more and more advertisers have
been approaching us to do business, many testifying to the results
that they have had from advertising on WIN TV and WIN Radio 101.1FM.
We would like to work with you and offer you a customized package
which will allow you to benefit from lower rates while enjoying the
exposure to the market that WIN Communications can give you. |
